Dark Forest was born from an appreciation for traditional craftsmanship and the products of the past that were made with care rather than built for the lowest possible price.
Our workshop is located right here in Portland. This is where our handmade leather wallets, card holders, and other leather goods are produced one piece at a time.
We don't mass-produce our wallets overseas and simply put our name on them. The work happens here.
From selecting and cutting the leather to sewing and finishing the edges, each wallet passes through our hands throughout the process.

We use premium full-grain leather because we appreciate how it changes over time. Instead of trying to make leather look perfect forever, we want it to develop character through use.
Scratches, creases, and changes in color become part of the story of the wallet.
